Recruiting

Open recruitments for Visiting Scholars are not required. It is extremely rare that this type of appointment would require an advertisement. If you do find yourself needing to advertise for such a position, it is encouraged that departments use the following language somewhere in their advertisements:

Visiting Graduate Students

A Visiting Graduate Student (VGS) at UCSD is a pre-doctoral graduate student registered at an educational institution outside of the University of California system pursuing research related to their degree program.
