20th Anniversary of Dynamic Systems and Control Program

On January 13th, MAE held a workshop in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of its Dynamic Systems and Control Program.  This program’s achievements over the last 20 years include over 80 PhD students graduated, 23 books published, and 15 elections to Fellow of learned societies. The workshop included talks on a variety of current research and technology topics from 10 of the DSC PhD alums, a retrospective from the program’s founder Professor Bob Skelton, welcome remarks by MAE Chair Vitali Nesterenko, a historical perspective on the first two decades of systems and controls in the AMES Department from Professor Emeritus Hal Sorenson, and a special address by Dean Emeritus Robert Conn who oversaw the establishment of the DSC program.
