FRESHMEN: The mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering majors have been declared impacted, effective Fall 2009. All other majors in MAE are open. Acceptance into an impacted engineering major is based on academic excellence demonstrated in high school. Acceptance will be granted to the maximum number of students in each of the impacted majors consistent with maintaining acceptable program quality and in compliance with admissions procedures and criteria approved by the Academic Senate's Committee on Educational Policy.

TRANSFERS: The mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering majors will have impacted status, effective Fall 2011. All other majors in MAE will remain open.

Admission to the university and to a college does not guarantee acceptance to an impacted major.
